Southern Tier Catholic School sees growth and renewal in first year at new location

OLEAN — Southern Tier Catholic School/Archbishop Walsh Academy is pleased to announce the successful completion of its first year at the new St. John’s location. This year has marked a significant period of growth, renewal and commitment to providing a nurturing environment for its students.
The new location at the former St. John School has not only met the needs of the school community but has also offered unique opportunities for students, including more field trips and out of the building activities than ever before. The school also won the Most Outstanding School Award at this years Alfred State Science Fair. This change has allowed STCS to strengthen its commitment to the Catholic faith, enhance academic rigor, and work towards financial sustainability.
Thanks to a recently awarded grant from the Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, STCS has expanded its outreach through billboards, commercials, and an enhanced online presence. These efforts have already resulted in several new student enrollments for the upcoming academic year and families continue to be welcomed for personalized tours.
Efforts have been met with strong support from the community and Bishop Michael W. Fisher, who has expressed a strong desire for STCS to remain open. The dedicated board of trustees and administrators are committed to ensuring the longevity and success of the school.
To further support the mission, STCS is appealing to the community for tax-deductible financial donations. Contributions will directly benefit the students, staff and families of STCS, enhancing the educational experience and supporting the development of future Catholic leaders. STCS is excited to announce a six-week Summer Enrichment Program running from July 8 to Aug. 16, daily from 8 am to 2:45 pm (partial week options also available). Open to all entering pre-K through fifth grade. Enrollment is also open for the 2024-25 school year. Tours and Shadow Days are offered at your convenience, with multiple scholarships and financial aid options available to support families.
