Father Damian retires from Blessed Mother Teresa, temporary administrator named

Bishop Edward Scharfenberger, apostolic administrator for the Diocese of Buffalo, has made the following appointments.

Father Lawrence Damian has retired as pastor of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish effective Dec. 5.

Father David I. Richards, pastor of Our Lady of Pompeii Parish in Lancaster, has accepted the additional responsibility of serving as temporary parish administrator of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Depew. This became effective Dec. 6.

Father Andrew R. Lauricella has been appointed parish administrator of St. Brendan on the Lake Parish in Newfane and Wilson, as of Dec. 1. He had been the temporary administrator for the past two months.

Father F. Patrick Melfi has accepted the additional responsibility of canonical administrator of St. Aloysius School in Springville, effective Dec. 1. Father Melfi also serves as pastor of St. Philomena Parish in Franklinville and Holy Name of Mary Parish in Ellicottville.

Father Joseph S. Rogliano, pastor of St. Mark and St. Rose of Lima parishes in Buffalo, has accepted the additional responsibility of Priests’ Personnel coordinator for the diocese. This will be effective Dec. 11, for a term of five years.

Father Felix Nyambe, OMI, has been granted faculties to minister in the Diocese of Buffalo.  He is serving as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Hope Parish. Father Nyambe comes from Zambia, Africa.
