Blessed Sacrament, Tonawanda, gets new leadership team,other parishes receive temporary administrators

Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger, apostolic administrator, has made the following appointments.

 Sister Lucette Kinecki, CSSF, will serve as the temporary parish administrator of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Tonawanda effective Oct. 25. She has been serving as the pastoral associate at Blessed Sacrament.

Msgr. Thomas E. Crane is coming out of retirement to serve as the priest moderator of Blessed Sacrament, effective Oct. 24.

Father Romolo T. Montero will be the temporary parish administrator of Christ Our Hope Parish in French Creek and Sherman effective Nov. 2. Father Montero has been serving as parochial vicar in the Basilica of St. Mary and St. John’s in Olean and also in St. Philomena’s in Franklinville.

Father David Borowiak, who retired earlier this year, has been appointed the temporary parish administrator of St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Akron, effective Nov. 2.

Permanent Deacon Michael V. Comerford Jr.

Father Robert M. Mock will become the temporary parish administrator of Our Lady of Charity Parish in Buffalo, effective Oct. 26. He will also assume, on a more permanent basis, the role of canonical administrator of South Buffalo Catholic School Notre Dame Academy. Father Mock had been pastor of St. Benedict until his October 2019 retirement.

 Deacon Michael Comerford has been appointed temporary parish administrator of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Buffalo, effective Oct. 26. Deacon Comerford will continue to serve as permanent deacon at OLV National Shrine & Basilica in Lackawanna.

 Father Mario Racho has been appointed parochial vicar of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Niagara Falls, effective Nov. 9, for a term of three years. Father Racho has been serving as parochial vicar at St. Mary Parish in Lancaster since his ordination last year.

All temporary assignments are effective until a new pastor or administrator is appointed.
