ATHOL SPRINGS — Michael Messore ’91, Principal of St. Francis High School, is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda Anderson as the school’s new director of Counseling Services and Head of College Counseling.

Anderson, a Buffalo native, brings with her more than 17 years of experience in college admissions, enrollment leadership, and student advocacy at both regional and national levels. She has already begun her work at St. Francis, collaborating with counselors Kayla Rydzynski and Evan Beale to strategize a dynamic and student-centered counseling program.

“Ms. Anderson’s leadership, experience and expertise will significantly benefit all students and their families as they navigate the college admissions process and explore careers that align with each young man’s interests and talents,” said Messore. “I am excited about the potential of our counseling team to serve and support the entire school community as we work toward being the best versions of ourselves as individuals and as an institution.”

Anderson’s background includes serving as assistant dean of Undergraduate Admission at Drexel University, where she spent nine years helping students across the globe navigate the U.S. higher education system. Most recently, she served as executive director of Undergraduate Admission at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, overseeing all facets of undergraduate enrollment.

“I am honored to join the St. Francis community and return to my hometown to continue the work I love from a new perspective,” Anderson said. “High school is a time when young men discover their passions, build life-long connections, and prepare to become confident adults. I look forward to walking alongside our students and their families every step of the way.”

In her role at St. Francis High School, Anderson aims to enhance the college ready curriculum and introduce a student-centered approach that deeply involves families in the process. Her vision is rooted in empowering students beyond college admissions and supporting their full development during these transformative years.

Outside of work, Anderson is an enthusiastic Buffalo Bills fan, a devoted charcuterie board creator, and an avid traveler with a love for exploring new cities.
