Summer Convocation offers something for all parish leaders

The Diocese of Buffalo will hold a Summer Convocation on Thursday July 24 to Friday July 25, at The Columns Banquets in Elma. Open to pastors, parochial vicars, principals, lay ecclesial ministers, and all other parish leaders, this gathering will address family faith formation, Catholic identity in schools and communications.
“We’re bringing everyone under the same roof so they know what we are doing moving forward,” said Lisa Benzer, diocesan director of Faith Formation, organizer of the event.

Father Ted Dudzinski from the Diocese of LaFayette – “What’s Next for Renewal?”
Dr. Doug Beaumont, Christian apologist – “Family Faith Formation: Equipping Your Primary Catechists (the Parents!)”
Paul Goldsworthy and Brian Ellerbach, marketing and sales executives, presenting a high level demonstration of their Ministry Platform
Riley Emer from the OLV/Lilly Foundation’s Catholic Parenting Initiative – “Engaging Parents in the Faith”
Dr. Stella Jeffrey from the Catechetical Institute will present a high level demonstration
Dr. Brett Salkeld, author – “Making Every Class Catholic”
Breakout sessions will address increasing Catholic identity in schools; overcoming objectives to family programming; engaging volunteers; and unifying teachers, catechists, students and families.
