Catholic Charities’ Hops for HOPE kicks off May 16

Catholic Charities of Buffalo is hosting its second Hops for HOPE at Resurgence Brewing as a celebration of the work of the agency and a call to support Appeal 2025. Following the success of the inaugural Hops for HOPE event last year, this year’s event is a weeklong celebration that kicks off on Friday, May 16 and runs through May 23.

The partnership with Resurgence Brewing, and expanding from one day to a week of festivities, is intended to raise awareness of the programs and services offered by Catholic Charities, recognize volunteers and supporters, and promote Appeal 2025 which concludes on June 30.

“With less than two months to go in this year’s appeal, we need the community’s help to finish strong and ensure that both help and hope can continue for our neighbors,” said Deacon Steve Schumer, president & CEO, Catholic Charities. “All funds raised during Hops for HOPE and throughout the entire appeal stay local to support the vital programs and services offered by Catholic Charities. We serve all and are encouraging all to give this year.”

The Hops for HOPE beer is a special rebranding of Resurgence Brewing’s Summer Ale. Cans of Hops for HOPE will be available for sale through May 23 and only in the tasting room at Resurgence, located at 55 Chicago St. in Buffalo. A portion of the proceeds from each can and four-pack will benefit Appeal 2025 in support of Catholic Charities and the Fund for the Faith.

All Hops for HOPE events take place right at Resurgence and include:

“The work of Catholic Charities really serves all aspects of our local community,” said Jeff Ware, owner, Resurgence Brewing. “We’re proud of our efforts to lift-up the organizations that serve our region. It’s just one way we can give back to the community that has supported us over the last decade.”

Appeal 2025 continues through June 30 and has currently raised more than $6 million or 71 percent of its goal to date. Donors can give at ccwny.org or call 716-218-1400. For more event information, please visit ccwny.org/HopsForHOPE.
