Living Rosary to be held at Cheektowaga parish May 13

Share

The public is invited to pray Tuesday, May 13 at a Living Rosary in Honor of Mary, Our Mother of Hope, Healing and Peace, beginning at 7 p.m. at the outdoor grotto on the grounds of Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 4125 Union Road (corner of Genesee) in Cheektowaga.

The prayer coincides with the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. It was on May 13, 1917 when Our Lady of Fatima made the first of her apparitions to Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco in Portugal. The latter two, who died in their youth as Our Lady of Fatima foretold, are now saints in the Catholic Church. Lucia lived on to become a popular nun and eventually shared the Secrets of Fatima, warning the world of suffering and the risk of hell if it remained in its sinful ways.

Those interested in attending are asked to first contact the parish office and indicate whether they wish to be a “living bead,” holding a candle while in prayer. The Our Lady Help of Christians parish office may be reached at 716-276-9288 or olhc.chapel@gmail.com. You may also RSVP to Father John Adams, senior parochial vicar, at 716-683-3712; frjohnbestill@hotmail.com.

In the event of inclement weather, the Living Rosary will be prayed inside the Maria Hilf Chapel.
