Third Church on Fire presents ‘A Choral Evening’ concert

The Parish Council of Blessed Sacrament Church is pleased to announce that the third and final concert of the 2024-2025 Church on Fire concert series will be presented on Thursday, March 27,  at 7:30 p.m. The concert, “A Choral Evening,” will be performed by the St. Louis Choir. Featured will be works of Farrant, Palestrina, Gabrieli, Ouseley, Friedel, di Lasso and others.

The St. Louis Choir is an all-volunteer parish ensemble founded in 1879. Its members rehearse each Thursday evening and lead the musical worship at 11 a.m. on Sundays. The choir’s repertoire spans nine centuries of sacred music and nearly every style of western composition.

In past years, the choir has performed in collaboration with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Ars Nova Musicians, Camerata di San Antonio Chamber Orchestra, Greater Buffalo Opera Company, Opera Sacra and the Dave Brubeck Quartet.

Free, off-street parking is available in the Catholic Academy of West Buffalo parking lot at 1069 Delaware Ave. The lot can be entered from Delaware and Lexington Avenues and also from Linwood Avenue.

The 2024-2025 Church on Fire II: Stay With Us! series is a collection of lectures, concerts, educational sessions, spiritual services, social events, and service programs designed to appeal to a wide variety of people as the Downtown Family of Catholic Parishes opens its doors to people of all faiths and builds community. The Church on Fire II: Stay With Us! series is sponsored by the McGloin Juenker Foundation Inc., and produced by the Parish Council of Blessed Sacrament Church.
