The Parish Council of Blessed Sacrament Church in Buffalo is pleased to announce that the second concert for the 2024-2025 Church on Fire Concert Series will be held on Friday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1029 Delaware Ave., Buffalo.
The Camerata di Sant’ Antonio Chamber Orchestra and the City Honors High School Chorale will present Music of Angels and Other Enchanting Voices. The program includes angelic music by Handel, Liszt and Satie, and other enchanting works including the Western New York premiere of “Voyage” by John Corigliano (composer of the score for “The Red Violin”).
The Camerata di Sant’Antonio is a chamber orchestra of camerati (friends) who connect with their audiences through innovative performances that both draw on the classical tradition and satisfy our enthusiasm for musical discovery. The members of the orchestra immerse themselves in masterworks with new vision as if they were composed yesterday, and surprise audiences with premiere works that resonate in contemporary culture. They treasure camaraderie and cultivate a collaborative spirit that elicits a multiplicity of voices. In this way, they satisfy their passion for artistic excellence and exploration.
Tickets for the concert can be purchased at Eventbrite.com. Admission is $22 or by subscription. The concert is free for those who are 17 and under, or who have an Arts Access pass.
A reception will follow the concert. The doors open at 6:30 pm.
Free, off-street parking is available in the parking lot of the Catholic Academy of West Buffalo. The lot can be entered on Delaware Avenue at Lexington Avenue or from Linwood Avenue.
