Welcome back celebration and Bills tailgate held at Downtown Parishes

Share

On Sunday, Oct. 6, the Parish Pastoral Council of Blessed Sacrament Church, will host a Welcome Back Celebration for all of the Downtown Family of Parishes. This event, celebrating the return of the school year and the end of summer, will feature a community Mass at 10:30 a.m. celebrated in the church. Immediately following Mass, a family picnic will occur. Free hot dogs and hamburgers will be served. We ask those who attend to bring their own sides and beverage.

During the picnic, a wide array of games and activities for kids of all ages will also occur on the rectory lawn. Come and enjoy face painting, hair braiding, bubbles, spin the wheel, sidewalk chalk art, big blocks, corn hole, kan jam, croquet and more.

At 1 p.m. we’ll get ready to tailgate in the Catholic Academy of West Buffalo’s parking lot for the Bills vs Texans game. You’re encouraged to bring your favorite tailgating regalia – special food, treats, drinks, tents and chairs. We will keep the grills cooking the hot dogs and hamburgers through the first quarter of the game.

Adding to the festivities will be our special Tailgate Tents. These tents will feature a Sweets Tent, meant to satisfy your sweet tooth, throughout the game. Another game-day-special will be the 24 Bills-themed raffle baskets featuring all-things Bills, tailgating and more. These baskets will be raffled off at four different times during the tailgate party: prior to kick-off, end of the first quarter, at half time, and end of the third quarter. A 50/50 raffle will also be held. Cash and Venmo will be available for the 50/50 and the Bills-themed basket raffle. Three other tents will feature a Voters Registration Tent, an interactive-sensorial Coffee Tent, and a Blessed Sacrament Membership Tent.

Special tote bags, T-shirts and other Blessed Sacrament memorabilia will be available both as prizes and for purchase.

Everyone must reserve a ticket for this free event. Your tickets will serve as your entrance and food ticket. When you go for your hot dogs and hamburgers you will present your ticket for punching. Make reservations at the event table during weekend Masses or by contacting Ashlee Campbell at St. Louis: 443-744-0354 / religioused@stlouisrcchurch.org or Michael Pitek at Blessed Sacrament: 716-480-8313 / michael@thepitekgroup.com.

All reserved tickets can be picked up the morning of the event, Oct. 6, at the Bills Ticket Tent located outside to the left of the main entrance to Blessed Sacrament Church.

All are invited to attend. Share our faith, build our community and support the Bills.
