Communications – More important than ever

Share

Change seems to be happening faster and faster these days. That’s why good, timely, accurate communication is more important than ever.

With the recently announced merger of parishes and the ongoing formation of Families of Parishes, Mass times, contact numbers, even addresses are changing. The diocesan Catholic Directory has that information. The online resource is updated every month to be one of the fastest and easiest ways to find what you need in the Diocese of Buffalo.

We’ve learned that parish engagement is on the decline, and Catholic school enrollment is also down. The Western New York Catholic serves as a vehicle to share the wonderful, positive stories of what is happening inside those parishes and schools. People need to be reminded of the spiritual nourishment they can find at Mass, ministries,  adoration and devotions. The Western New York Catholic, now only available online, still tells the story of the faith-filled, hard-working, and giving people of the diocese.

The diocesan website www.BuffaloDiocese.org has a list of streaming Masses and other resources. You can read the basics of the Catholic faith to the latest happenings with the Synod for Synodality, Eucharistic Revival and the Road to Renewal.

If you’re looking to just sit back and relax, the Diocese of Buffalo SoundHub provides podcasts, audio plays, one-on-one interviews, and news reports to enjoy while eating, driving or working around the house. The content is fit for adults and children.

Through platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X, we share the Gospel message to a wider range of people outside our church walls, promote and share diocesan and parish events, and educate both Catholics and non-Catholics about the faith.

Communication is a two-way street. We need your support so that we can promote, share, and amplify your stories to the wider audience. Please send your news, your stories, and your suggestions to wnycatholic.buffalo@gmail.com.

All of us on the diocesan Communication team want to serve you in the best way we can.

The Catholic Communication Campaign will take place this weekend, June 8-9. This campaign connects Catholics with Christ in the U.S. and developing countries using the internet, TV, radio and print media. Half of the money collected remains here in the Diocese of Buffalo to fund local communications efforts. Your support helps spread the Gospel message. Thank you in advance for your support.
