SWORMVILLE — Join with the parishioners of the Akron and Clarence family of parishes as they begin the “33 Days to Morning Glory” Marian Consecration Retreat on April 15. You will learn about and reflect upon four great saints with a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin, Mary: St. John Paul II, St. Louis de Montfort, St. Maximilian Kolbe and St. Teresa of Calcutta, as they teach us about drawing closer to the Heart of Jesus through the Heart of Mary.

Father Thomas Mahoney, pastor of the Akron Clarence Roman Catholic Community, shares, “My hope is, by consecrating ourselves to Our Blessed Mother, we are able to take Mary’s, ‘Yes,’ and make it our own. Even though we may not fully understand what is being asked of us, we can trust and say, ‘Yes,’ to the Holy Spirit.”
All are invited to attend the Monday evening meetings at 7 p.m. or participate at home using the free “33 Days to Morning Glory” retreat guide magazine. In person sessions will include small group discussions and a 30-minute video by popular author and speaker, Father Michael Gaitley, MIC, who will bring our individual reflections and group experience into a clear and livable focus.
The first three meetings, April 15, April 22 and April 29, will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish Center, 10950 Main St., Clarence.
On May 6, the meeting will be held at St. Mary School Cafeteria, 6919 Transit Rd., East Amherst.
St. Teresa of Avila Parish, 5771 Buell St., Akron, will host the May 13 meeting.
The retreat will culminate with a Consecration Mass on the Feast of Mary, Mother of the Church, at 6 p.m. on May 20, at Our Lady of Peace Church in Clarence.
Sign up is not required. Attend as many sessions as you can. Home participants are encouraged to attend the Consecration Mass. Free “33 Days to Morning Glory” retreat guide magazines will be available in the vestibules of St. Mary’s Swormville; Our Lady of Peace, Clarence; Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Harris Hill; and St. Teresa of Avila, Akron, April 13-14.
Christina Egleston, ACRCC director of Catholic Education, encourages the faithful of Western New York to, “Transform your relationship with Jesus through Mary. Through the 33 Days to Morning Glory Marian Consecration Retreat, you will feel the love of our Blessed Mother, Mary. She will bring all that weighs on your heart directly to her son, Jesus, and wrap you lovingly in her mantle.”
