Deacon Thomas R. Healey, who served St. Christopher Parish since 2009, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024. He was 75.

Born July 9, 1948, in Mount Kisco. Attended Westlake High School in Thornwood. Then went on to earn degrees from Orange Community College, SUNY Brockport, and Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. His master’s thesis was published in the Journal of Motor Behavior and presented at the International Symposium on Psycho-Motor Learning in 1972.
Deacon Healey worked as senior clinical laboratory scientist at Kaleida Health’s Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.
He was ordained by Bishop Edward U. Kmiec at St. Joseph Cathedral in Buffalo on June 6, 2009. His assignments took him to the diocesan Catecumenate Board and St. Christopher Parish in Tonawanda, where he served on the Liturgy Committee, Bereavement Committee, RCIA team, and was past president of St. Christopher’s parish council.
Deacon Healey was the beloved husband of Catherine (Eccleston) Healey; devoted father of Brian, Ronald, Lisa and the late Russell Healey; cherished grandfather of Megan, Caroline, Thea and Finn Healey; loving son of the late Madlyn and Thomas H. Healey; dear brother of Carol Winzig.
Family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Dengler, Roberts, Perna Funeral Home, 3070 Delaware Ave., Kenmore, from 4-8 p.m. Friends may also visit St. Christopher Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd., Tonawanda, on Friday, Feb. 9, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. A funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11:30 am. Bishop Michael W. Fisher will be the principal celebrant.
