Nutrition is the focus on June's episode of 'Our Daily Bread'

All you have to do is Google “healthy cooking” and an array of tips, techniques and how-to instructions pop up, but with all the information you can find, there still seems to be an apprehension, reluctance and an overall feeling of confusion when talking about healthy cooking.
Is olive oil good for us? Are there really foods that can help us lose weight? Can today’s technology such as mobile apps provide us with proper weight management or are they just something to amuse us and occupy our time?
On this month’s “Our Daily Bread,” host Father Paul D. Seil, is joined in the kitchen by Jennifer Turesky, who has been employed by Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo since 2004. She is a registered dietitian, certified dietitian/nutritionist, a certified diabetes educator and a certified LIFESTEPS leader. Turesky also teaches diabetes self-management education classes, LIFESTEPS weight management classes and is the outpatient dietitian at the Piver Center for Women’s Health and Wellness. She lends instruction and helpful tips to Father Seil as they together prepare some nutritious yet delicious meals. On the menu is breakfast wraps, chicken salad, naan bread pizza and a berry trail mix.
Don’t let an overabundance of information confuse or scare you. Father Seil has an expert in the kitchen who makes learning about healthy cooking fun, easy and anxiety-free.
The rapport between Turesky and Father Seil is something you don’t want to miss, so circle Saturday, June 9, on your calendar. “Our Daily Bread” airs at 5:30 a.m. and noon on WKBW-TV Ch. 7. The day’s recipes will be posted on the website at www.odbtv.org.
