The night featured pro-life speaker Rebecca Kiessling, as well as the first public statement from Bishop Edward U. Kmiec about the Health and Human Services mandate on contraception.

When President Obama accused “some people” (meaning the Catholic bishops) of playing politics when they objected to being forced to pay for contraceptives for their employees (and he added that if they refused they would be fined millions of dollars), he made an unforced error of monumental proportions.

Upperclass students at St. Peter School in Lewiston declared war on each other during Catholic Schools Week. Their weapons were mixing bowls and chocolate served as ammunition, as their war was of the cupcake variety. read more...

Fighting freezing rain and ever-increasing political obstacles, bands of people marched on the nation’s capitol to be seen and heard as a witness that people of faith will not stand idle while abortion is legal.
