Attorney rallies for Retirement Fund for 25th year

After leading the charge for Western New York retired women and men religious for 25 years, Edward C. Cosgrove isn’t thinking about stepping aside anytime soon. The Buffalo attorney is building support for another Retirement Fund for Religious campaign, along with the kick-off luncheon in November.

Ken-Ton parishes share ‘Catholicism in backyard’

When the parishes of the Kenmore-Tonawanda area sought ways to recognize the “Year in Faith” they needed to look no further than their own backyard. They now invite people from the diocese to explore the diocese and discover the richness of art, culture and faith offered in Western New York. Through a series of field trips to key sites in the Diocese of Buffalo and a few guest speakers, the Ken-Ton group hopes to educate and entertain guests as they get to know, what they call, “Catholicism in Our Backyard.” read more...
Bishop McLaughlin marks 100th birthday

Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus Bernard McLaughlin reached an extraordinary milestone in his life on Jan. 6, 1969, when he was ordained a bishop by Pope John Paul II at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, the only Buffalo bishop to hold such an honor. Bishop McLaughlin will reached yet another impressive milestone on Nov. 19 when he celebrates his 100th birthday.

Pro-life rally offers tools to get message heard

The Students for Life of America presented a virtual how-to kit for pro-life outreach during a rally for college-aged pro-lifers. Held at Cardinal O’Hara High School in Tonawanda on Oct. 20, the rally offered talks on apologetics, outreach and Theology of the Body to college-aged students. read more...
